How to Identify Your VELFAC Window or Door

The quickest way to identify a VELFAC window or door is to find its product identity tag. The tag normally contains the original order number and the position number for that individual element. These details can help when identifying replacement parts or tracing the original specification.

Where to look for the VELFAC ID tag

Open the window or door and inspect the inside edge of the frame or sash. The identification label is often fixed vertically along the rebate, where it is hidden when the element is closed.

The precise position varies with the product type and age, so check the full opening edge carefully. A phone torch can help if the label is positioned deep within the rebate.

Before contacting us:

Take one photograph showing where the label sits on the window or door, followed by a close-up sharp enough for every number to be read.

What information should you record?

  • Order number — identifies the original order or project.
  • Position number — identifies the particular window or door within that order.

Current and older VELFAC labels are laid out differently, but both normally contain these identifying numbers.

What photographs should you take?

  1. The complete window or door from inside.
  2. The location of the ID tag.
  3. A close-up of the complete label.
  4. The part or fault you need help with.
  5. For handles, the complete handle and its base.

What if the label is missing or unreadable?

Identification may still be possible from the product design, dimensions and detailed photographs. Send clear images of the whole element, opening arrangement, handle, hinges, gaskets and any damaged component.

Why the ID tag matters

VELFAC elements are individually traceable. Supplying the correct order and position details can make it easier to confirm the original product and establish which replacement components may be compatible.
