Which VELFAC Handle Do I Need?

If you need a replacement VELFAC handle, identifying the correct type before ordering is important. VELFAC handles can look similar while differing in handing and locking type. Use the checks below to identify the correct VELFAC handle for your window or door.

1. Photograph the complete handle

Take one clear photograph from directly in front, showing the lever, base and surrounding window. Then take a second close-up of the fixing area and lock cylinder.

2. Identify left or right handing

Stand inside facing the window and note which way the handle points in its normal closed position.

Do not rely only on the hinge side, because handle descriptions can vary between suppliers. A photograph is the safest way to confirm handing.

3. Check whether it locks

Confirm whether the handle has a key cylinder, a push button or no locking feature. For keyed handles, note whether you require a replacement key as well as the handle.

4. Check the system and age

Look for the product identity tag, normally found on the window or door element. The tag can help trace the system and original components. Also note whether the product is VELFAC 200, VELFAC Ribo, VELFAC Classic or another system.

5. Compare the base and fixings

Compare the shape of the handle base, the position of visible screws or cover plates, the spindle arrangement and the finish. Do not order solely because the lever shape looks similar.
